intake-item-oct-30-14-42-47
Antique Telescoping Wood and Brass Tripod Leg with Steel Point

This antique telescoping tripod leg is built from slim wooden slats joined by brass-plated fittings, with a knurled brass-collared locking knob and a sharp steel point at the foot. Its sliding sections collapse neatly together and extend to a long working length, a clever piece of early mechanical design.

The wood shows honest age, with darkened grain, scuffs, and some wear on the edges and fittings, while the brass plates have a warm patina. The brass rivets and hardware are still firm, and the steel point is intact. Dimensions are not listed, so please ask if you need the exact extended length.

A great find for collectors of vintage survey and photographic equipment, or for woodworkers who appreciate fine old hardware. It would also make an eye-catching display piece in a workshop or study.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0924/5124/2306/files/item9-1_8804b95f-cd0f-4bee-9afb-5e2887b1cabd.jpg?v=1793385779
