A genuine 1951 US Military jerry can in red metal, marked with military specification stamps and origin details. This robust fuel container features the characteristic tapered rectangular design with reinforced carrying handle and threaded pour spout with integral cap—the iconic profile that made jerry cans essential to mid-20th-century military operations.
The can bears clear embossed markings including the letter 'G' and 'U.S.A.' designation on the front, with additional military specification stamps visible on the top surface, dating it to 1951. The heavy-gauge sheet metal construction shows authentic patina and wear consistent with field use, and the locking spout mechanism remains intact and functional.
A superb example of American military surplus engineering and Cold War–era industrial design. Jerry cans are prized by collectors of militaria, outdoor enthusiasts, and industrial design aficionados for their durability, practical beauty, and historical significance.
