A wonderful example of 19th-century dairy equipment, this wooden box-style butter churn showcases authentic period craftsmanship and functionality. The dark wood construction features a hinged lid with integral carry handle, a crank mechanism with wooden grip on the side, and period-appropriate hardware including a brass handle and black metal latch and fittings.

Measuring 20" x 18" x 18", this churn retains excellent structural integrity with visible wear consistent with active use over more than a century. The interior shows the characteristic patina of traditional butter-making, while drainage holes in the base allowed for proper water management during the churning process. This is a genuine working antique, not a reproduction.

Perfect for the serious collector of American folk history, agricultural antiques, or farmhouse décor, this butter churn represents a vanished domestic craft and the self-sufficiency of rural life before industrialization.
