A charming antique cast iron floor crate, 7 inches in diameter, featuring ornate Gothic or Victorian-inspired pierced metalwork. The decorative face displays a cross-centered design with elaborate cutout details, creating an intricate lattice pattern that speaks to skilled foundry craftsmanship of the early 20th century.

The reverse shows the working louver mechanism—two hinged metal flaps that could open and close, suggesting this piece functioned as a heat register, cold air return, or ventilation vent. The mounting holes visible on the back indicate it was permanently installed in a floor or wall. Original patina and oxidation are consistent with age and indoor use.

Perfect for collectors of architectural salvage, industrial decor, or anyone restoring a period home. A functional and decorative piece that combines utility with genuine antique character.
