A vintage C.P. Goerz Hygrograph—a precision humidity and temperature chart recorder from the late 19th or early 20th century. This mechanical instrument features a rotating drum with graph paper, dual needles for tracking moisture and temperature fluctuations, and the maker's nameplate clearly visible on the cast iron housing. The device was historically used in tobacco kilns to monitor environmental conditions during the curing process.
The hygrograph remains in untested condition as pictured. The original graph paper shows evidence of long service, with visible ink traces from the recording needles. The metal casing shows age-appropriate patina and wear. All mechanical components appear present, including the drum mechanism, needle arms, and decorative brass maker's plate with the Goerz name.
