A striking Victorian Eastlake platform rocking chair in walnut, upholstered in contrasting golden-yellow velvet and deep red/burgundy velvet. The frame features characteristic Eastlake design elements including carved floral medallions at the crest rail, reeded columns, and scrolled wooden armrests with decorative carved capitals. The chair sits on a rocking platform base rather than traditional curved rockers.
The velvet upholstery shows age-appropriate wear consistent with a well-loved antique piece, with some visible spots and fading particularly on the yellow section. The wooden frame retains good structural integrity with carved details still crisp and defined. Pink gimp trim edges the seams, typical of period upholstery finishing.
