A sturdy wooden chest with a rich, dark finish and a lift-top lid, originally made from a dresser. The front drawer-style panel has a raised edge, a keyhole, and two ornate brass-tone pulls with scrollwork, and the base has a molded trim with carved corner blocks.
Inside, the chest has a wooden interior with a tray-like compartment at one end. The lid shows age wear and a small knot, and there is some edge wear and scuffing on the top. Dovetailed joinery is visible at the front corner of the drawer-style panel.
A handsome piece for storage, a bench, or a display stand in a bedroom, hall, or family room. Pickup only due to size and weight.
