This fine pewter figurine shows General Robert E. Lee standing in a long coat and sash beside a rocky base with a bare tree branch. It is from the Leaders of Gettysburg series, sculpted by Francis J. Barnum and handcrafted by Chilmark at Hudson Creek, U.S.A.

The base is marked with the sculptor's name and a 1997 copyright, along with the edition number 401/1200 on a pewter plaque. A small gold-toned Chilmark medallion sits on the base, and the figure is mounted on a round, finished wood plinth. The underside carries a pewter plaque with the subject name, sculptor, and maker details.

A good piece for Civil War collectors, history lovers, or anyone who appreciates numbered pewter sculpture. It makes a striking desk or shelf display.
