This vintage balance scale has a red-painted cast iron base, a polished steel platform pan, and a set of sliding weight beams with graduated scales. The plate on the base reads 'Pas Légal Pour Commerce' and the model number 6234 is stamped on the front.
The pan shows scratches and some tarnish that suggest years of honest use, and the paint has chipped in places, giving it an authentic patina. The weights are heavy and solid, and the mechanism moves freely.
Because of its weight and size, this scale is available for local pickup only. It would make a standout piece in a farmhouse kitchen, general store display, or antique collection.
