This antique ship's lantern carries an Elisha Webb & Son Manufacturers plate reading 136 So. Front St., Philadelphia, PA, on its side. The green painted metal body shows age-appropriate wear, with paint loss and a lighter patina that add to its character.
The lantern features a ribbed blue glass Fresnel lens behind protective metal bars, a pierced vented chimney with a hinged top, and a sturdy wire carrying handle. A hinged side door opens to reveal the lens and fixture area, which takes modern bulbs for display.
A great piece for a nautical display, a man cave, or a collector of marine and maritime lighting. Pickup is preferred due to its size, weight and glass lens.
