A striking vintage Blue Mountain Pottery bird sculpture, standing 17" tall. This elegant piece features a stylized upright bird form rendered in the pottery's signature teal-blue glaze with beautiful depth and variation. The sculpture showcases the characteristic smooth, glossy finish and organic curves typical of BMP's mid-century ceramic work.
The piece is mounted on a dark ceramic base, giving it a gallery-quality presentation. The sculptural form captures a sense of movement and grace, with the bird's extended neck and pointed head creating a dynamic vertical composition. The glaze demonstrates lovely color gradation from deeper teal to lighter blue-grey tones, with some areas showing the underlying texture of the clay body.
Blue Mountain Pottery is highly collectible Canadian studio pottery, known for quality craftsmanship and distinctive glazing. This bird sculpture is a fine example of the maker's artistic vision and would be a wonderful addition to any vintage pottery or mid-century decor collection.
