A vintage Mentholatum ointment jar with a white ceramic body and a metal lid bearing the raised Mentholatum name. Pharmacy and drugstore containers like this were a familiar sight on shop counters and bathroom shelves.

The lid shows surface rust and grey patina, and there is some staining on the base and body. The base carries raised lettering and a patent or made-in stamp that is worn but still partly legible.
